½ cup cubed salted Butter

1 ¾ cup Milk

1 tsp Vanilla

2 Eggs

¾ cup Choco-Chip

Toppings

Fresh Whipped Cream

Sliced Banana

Chopped Strawberries

Nutella

Method

Step 1

Add the cubed butter to a heat-proof bowl. Then place in the microwave and heat in bursts of 30 seconds till entirely melted. Then keep it aside to cool just a bit. In a saucepan, add milk and place on low flame. Heat the milk for 1-2 minutes or till slightly warm.

Step 2

Add warm milk and melted butter to a mixing bowl and whisk till combined. Then add in one egg at a time and whisk thoroughly. Add in vanilla extract and sugar whisk till the sugar dissolves. Sift flour, cornflour, baking powder, and cinnamon powder in a separate bowl.

Step 3

Now add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk till almost lump-free. Then let the batter rest for 30 minutes. Till the batter rest, lightly dab the waffle maker with oil and preheat. Then add 1 cup of the waffle batter to the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes or till golden brown. Cook till the desired number is achieved.

Step 4

Place the waffles on a cooling rack. Preheat the oven to 170℃ fan-forced. and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Then transfer the waffles to the baking tray, place them in the oven, and bake for 15 minutes. Then take the tray out and let the waffles rest for 5 minutes.

Serve waffles hot with a layer of Nutella, slice banana, strawberries and fresh whipped cream.

Tips

  1. All ingredients need to be at room temperature until mentioned otherwise.

  2. Don’t boil the milk. Only heat it till you can comfortably dip your finger in.

  3. Tiny lumps in the batter are excepted and completely fine.

  4. Dab the waffle grill with oil for an extra crunch.

  5. Once the waffle is cooked, place it on a cooling rack instead of a plate to avoid the moisture softening the waffles.

  6. You adjust the amount and type of chocochips in the batter to your liking.
