Serves: 1

Ingredients

⅓ cup Blueberries

3 chopped Strawberries

2 tsp Orange zest

2 tsp Vanilla sugar

1 Pastry sheet

1 beaten Egg

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180℃. Add blueberries, strawberries, orange zest, and vanilla sugar to a bowl. Mix well till the berries are coated properly with sugar.

Step 2

Now cut the pastry sheet into a 3-inch circle. Take a 2-inch pie dish and fit the pastry sheet in. Pork the surface with a fork uniformly and add the filling.

Step 3

Cut the leftover pastry sheet into thin strips. Now add 5-6 stripes vertically equally spaced from one another. Then unfold the first, third and fifth strips, and add a stripe horizontally. Repeat the process two more times or till you achieve a criss-cross pattern.

Step 4

Now brush the pie with the egg wash and cover almost all the stripes and edges. Then place in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or till the fillings start bubbling.

Step 5

Take the pie out of the oven, let it cool down for 5-10 minutes and serve.

Tips

  1. If your berries aren't sweet, then adjust the sugar levels.

  2. If you don't have vanilla sugar, just add sugar to taste and 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

  3. Covering the pie with egg wash secures it and gives it a brilliant shine. Don't skip this step.
