A zesty stack of fluffy light pancakes, drizzled with pure melted dark chocolate. These pancakes are the perfect breakfast to celebrate the joy of the weekend. I love the freshness of the oranges combined with the smooth texture of the chocolate. The texture of the pancakes is cloud-like. They are soft yet moist. A bite into this stack of pancakes will be sunshine to your heart.

Serves: 2

Ingredients

2 cups Flour

⅓ cup Granulated sugar

2 tsp Baking soda

¼ tsp Baking powder

¼ tsp Salt

2 tsp Orange zest

30g melted Unsalted butter

1 ¾ cup Milk

1 Egg

20g melted Dark chocolate

Orange slices

Butter

Method

Step1- Batter

Add egg, milk and cooled melted butter to a bowl. Whisk smooth and with no lumps. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and orange zest in another bowl and whisk till smooth. Now add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk the batter till it’s lump free.

Step 2- Pancake

Grease a non-stick pan with butter, place on medium heat, and drop one ladle full of pancake batter in the middle. Flip the pancake once bubbles appear on the surface and cook for 2-3 minutes. Repeat the process till the desired number of pancakes are achieved.

Step 3- Assembly

Stack the pancakes in a place. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the pancakes, add orange slices on top and serve hot!

Tips

  1. Cool the butter completely before adding it to the batter.

  2. Grease the pan after every pancake

  3. Fluctuate the heat accordingly.

  4. Cool the pan by sprinkling water on it if it gets too hot.

  5. You can add 1/3 cup of choco chips to the batter for more chocolatey pancakes.
