Turkish Sausage Rolls

Golden, greasy sausages in a cheese-loaded sandwich are what dream brekkie sandwiches are made off! But now you can create it right in your kitchen with little effort. This sandwich has it all; flavour, texture and the satisfaction of a hearty brekkie sandwich. The melted mozzarella on the toasted Turkish roll adds dimensions to these beauties, and the cold cuts complement the smokey sausages. If you are just as obsessed with brekkie sandwiches as me, this will be your new favourite.

Serves: 2

Ingredients

4 Sausages

4 slices Turkey meat

4 slices Ham meat

4 slices Mozzarella

2 Turkish Rolls

2 tsp Olive oil

½ slices Tomato

2 tbsp Tomato relish

3 tbsp Mayonnaise

Fresh Pasley

Siracha

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 220℃. Add olive oil to a pan and place on high heat. Once hot, add the sausages and cook till golden brown. Slightly press the sausages while cooking and tilt the pan occasionally. Once cooked thoroughly, keep aside.

Step 2

Slice your Turkish rolls into two halves, then toast the rolls in sausage grease till slightly brown. Now add the bottom halves to a baking tray and layer with mozzarella. Place in the oven and bake for 4-6 minutes or till the mozzarella melts. Then take the tray and let the rolls rest for 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the tomato relish and mayonnaise. Add and spread the sauce over the toasted bread. Then layer with turkey, ham and tomato slices. Place your sausages: drizzle sriracha and more mayonnaise. Cover with the upper half of the Turkish roll and serve!

Tips

  1. Use any sausage of your choosing.

  2. Flattening the sausages ensures they won’t roll out of the sandwich.

  3. You can replace tomato relish with ketchup.
