With a beautiful cake-like consistency, these pancakes should become a Sunday staple. Give these pancakes a try and see for yourself!

Serves: 2

Ingredients

2 cups Flour

⅓ cup Granulated sugar

2 tsp Baking powder

¼ tsp Baking Soda

¼ tsp Salt

¼ cup Cocoa Powder

30g melted Unsalted Butter

1 ¾ cups Milk + 3 tbsp

1 egg

1 tsp Vanilla extract

50g Dark chocolate

50g White Chocolate

Strawberries

Blackberries

Method

Step 1

In a bowl, sift, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, butter and vanilla extract.

Step 2

Now add the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and whisk well till smooth.

Step 3

In a bowl, sift the cocoa powder and add half of the pancake batter. Then mix in the cocoa powder with the batter. Add 3 tbsp of milk and whisk well till smooth.

Step 4

Now grease a pan with butter and place on medium heat. Drop one 2 tbsp of vanilla pancake batter on the pan. Right away, add 2 tbsp of chocolate pancake batter on the top. Continue the process till desired rings.

Step 5

Once bubbles form on top of the pancake, flip it and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes. Repeat the process till desired pancakes. Grease the pan after every pancake.

Step 6

In two separate bowls, add white chocolate and dark chocolate. Place in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds. Then take it out and stir it. Repeat the process till they are fully melted.

Step 6

Stack your pancakes and pour white chocolate on the pancakes, followed by dark chocolate. Place some strawberries and blackberries. Serve hot.

Tips

  1. Cool the melted butter to room temperature before adding it to the wet ingredients.

  2. Avoid lumps in the pancake batter. Make sure to sift all the dry ingredients.

  3. Greasing the pan after every pancake ensures all the pancakes get a uniform layer of fat to cook in.

  4. Cooking pancakes on medium heat gives a smoothly cooked pancake.

  5. The more rings you form, the bigger your pancake will become.
